CARLOTA M. FONTSERÈ

Hello!

My name is Carlota, and I’ve always been connected to the world of art and design, a connection that has shaped my creativity and passion for the field. I recently graduated with a degree in Design from EINA, where I was able to strengthen my skills, explore new creative perspectives, and develop a critical and versatile approach to my work.

I consider myself a curious, open-minded, and driven person, always eager to learn and take on new challenges that allow me to grow both personally and professionally within the world of design.

404 Flora not found

Bachelor’s Thesis
2026
404 Flora Not Found is a critical and speculative design project that reflects on the progressive disappearance of nature and the growing number of threatened plant species in Catalonia. Through the creation of a fictional catalogue set in the near future, in 2074, the project imagines a scenario in which native flora has completely disappeared and is preserved only through archives and documentary records.

My grandfather, Josep Fontserè, and my grandmother, Margarita Solà, met in 1955, and each came from families with different situations that had to face their own challenges. In this edition, I want to talk from different perspectives: the evolution of my grandfather’s life, as well as my grandmother's, which is narrated by her four siblings, who tell the parallel story up to the point where they meet. This project has been an opportunity to learn more about my mother's side of the family. The edition is a collection of my grandparents' anecdotes and everyday memories throughout the years.

On la pell toca la terra

Photography

It explores the relationship between the human body and the natural landscape, establishing visual and symbolic connections through textures, surfaces, and forms. I place the skin in dialogue with the organic elements of nature to question the boundaries between what is human and what is natural, turning photography into a tool for sensory and poetic connection.

This is a magazine dedicated to the most influential female singers in the United States from each decade. This issue dives into the 1980s, focusing on the iconic figures of Madonna, Whitney Houston, Cyndi Lauper, and Tina Turner.

Through this magazine, we aim to highlight the strength and power of women, exploring both their struggles and their achievements, while connecting their stories to the historical and social context of the time in which they lived and succeeded. Each edition is a tribute to their influence and legacy that continues to inspire generations of women to this day.

Està en crisis l’amor romàntic?

Art Direction
2024
Finalist proposal for the cover of the magazine "El Ciervo" issue 803 January/February 2025.

The design of the cover is inspired by the romantic love that my grandparents have shared throughout their lives. To capture this moment, I enlisted the help of my grandfather, who read one of the letters he and my grandmother used to send each other. In the photograph, you can feel how this love has endured over time, as his hand symbolizes the present and the luck he has had in finding such real love.

Diàlegs

Art Direction
2024
Dialogues arises from the idea of communication between people, an action that connects us and allows us to share ideas, emotions, and experiences.

It focuses not only on speaking and listening, but on understanding each other, creating spaces where all voices have a place. In an increasingly digitalized world, where information circulates at high speed, barriers are often created that distance us. Interactions become more superficial and fast, causing us to lose part of the value of deep and authentic dialogue. With this project, I want to give value to the slow and respectful conversation between different generations and cultures. In this way, dialogue becomes the key to personal and social growth.
